I hope you had a wonderful Christmas! Our Christmas was quiet this year but "Daddy" received a gift he has wanted for a long time. Can you guess what it is?
I'll give you a hint. He won't live in the house with us. This is how "Mommy" gave told "Daddy".
You guessed it! A horse named Ace.
Actually he is a 2 1/2 year old Arabian gelding named Ace.
This is Ace with his trainer, Greg Peak. Ace has been playing in the mud so please overlook the mud spots on his pretty coat. He will be "in school" or "training" until the end of January. This is what he will be learning to do: He will learn manners. We don't want him to step on anyone's feet!
He will learn to stand straight, to stand still and he will learn to follow commands among other things that are important for horses to learn. He might even get to enter horse shows under halter.
If he does, we will let you know. Maybe show a picture or two.
I won't be in the stable with Ace so we won't get to play together. (Can you imagine a cat on the back of a horse? Hmmm, that sounds like fun!) We are glad to have him in the family! I'm sure there will be many stories to tell about Ace this year!
